In addition to many original interior features, there are three sets of pegged French doors on the exterior. Built in the late 1850's by Louis de Favrot, son of Pierre Joseph de Favrot who purchased the land in 1800. Located on the River Road north of Port Allen. Private home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The high peaks and sloping roof are typical of French colonial plantation homes of the early 1800's. Located off Highway 1 on Lafiton Lane. Private. The 200-year-old-house (circa 1790) has been moved three times because of levee setbacks made necessary by the swift current of the river at this point. Located on the River Road north of Port Allen. Private. Seated statue facing the columned parish courthouse was created by well-known sculptor Angela Gregory. Allen served in the Civil War at the Battles of Shiloh, Vicksburg, and Baton Rouge and rose to the rank of brigadier general; later he became the last Confederate governor of Louisiana.
