Within easy walking distance to downtown you can stroll the Lake Huron Boardwalk along the waterfront, or grab a ferry for a trip out to Mackinac Island, where you will find no automobiles, only horse-drawn carriages, bikes, the Round Island Lighthouse, and the Grand Hotel from the movie Somewhere in Time. The Mackinac Bridge is the longest suspension bridge. You can climb Castle Rock for a birds eye view of the Straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Island, and Lake Huron. You can hook the big one on a charter of the great lakes fishing for salmon, lake trout, and steelhead. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling trails are available out our back door. Educational experiences as well as fun and enjoyment can be found at Garlyn Zoo and Deer Ranch observing all of the animals. |
